Vasu to move court if govt. ignores landmark judgment

Former MP and Opposition Leader of the CMC, Vasudeva Nanayakkra, yesterday said that he would move the Supreme Court against the government if the latter ignored the landmark ruling and recommendations on his application against the sale of 90 per cent shares of the Lanka Marine Services Limited, a wholly owned company of the CPC which was a profit making, debt free and tax paying company, to John Keells Holdings.

Army advances on Vanni front
Amidst confrontations on the Vanni front, three LTTE cadres have surrendered to the army, two from Jaffna who surrendered on the Welioya front on Thursday and the other at Mallavi area where troops were gradually battling their way towards the road leading from Mankukam to Vellankulam, west of the A 9 road.
