Missiles hit village in northwest Pakistan, killing 6
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - Pakistan state television says a missile attack near the Afghan border has killed six people.

Pakistan Television says the missiles hit Azam Warsak, a village in the South Waziristan tribal region. It didn't identify the victims or the source of its information. It did not say who fired the missiles.

A Pakistani intelligence official tells The Associated Press he received a similar report. He discussed the Monday incident on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak publicly.

The Pakistan army spokesman was not available for comment.

Pakistan's border regions have seen a series of missile strikes this year, apparently carried out by U.S. warplanes. One killed an al-Qaida leader in January.
