

"Tandoor" the North Indian restaurant at, the Ceylon Continental Hotel is one of the most sought after restaurants in the city where authentic North Indian cuisine is served.
At the Tandoor restaurant a wide variety of North Indian delights prepared by three Indian Master Chefs are served to the discerning customers.
The dishes include both vegetarian and non vegetarian.
Ceylon Continental’s Executive Chef Lakshman Liyanarachchci said everything from the ingredients to crockery and cutlery are imported from India.
The ingredients are sent to Sri Lanka from India every two months as the management doesn’t want to compromise on quality and taste, Chef Liyanarachchci said.
The hotel’s public relations executive Onitha Gurugala said from décor to cutlery: it is decorated in traditional Indian style enabling the diners to enjoy a real Indian ambience. In addition a traditional show kitchen is also in operation at the ‘Tandoor’ she said.
‘Tandoor’ which has been in existence for the last five years has earned a name for its authentic North Indian cuisine among a wide variety of discerning clients over the years he said.
She said a la carte menus provides the diners with a wider selection with a variety of dishes. "appetizers, soup, salads, tandoor specialities (both non- vegetarian and vegetarian curries) biriyani, seafood, Indian bread and a variety of desserts to choose from the dessert buffet.

‘Tandoor’ has become the favourite restaurant for the business executives in the metropolis for the busy business executives and ‘Tandoor offers a special Thali meal during lunch time. The vegetarian Thali, non-vegetarian Thali and the Tandoor Thali are the hot favourites among them she said.
Every Friday is the dinner buffet at the ‘Tandoor.
