An LTTE pistol gang shot dead a Tamil civilian near the Muniappan Kovil in Bandarakulam Vavuniya on Wednesday night, to Vavuniya Police said.

Though Police recovered the body they were still unable to confirm his identity. Police believe the pistol gang had abducted him from elsewhere and had brought him to Bandarakulam where he was killed.
