Dialog gets a new chairman, foreign director resigns from CommBank

Dialog Telekom PLC has made changes in its board of directors with a new chairman and another Malaysian non-executive non-independent director appointed, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has been notified.

The new chairman is Datuk Azzat bin Kamaludin (Chairman/Non-Independent Non-Executive Director) and the director, Azwan Khan bin Osman Khan (Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director).

They succeed the previous chairman and two other Malaysian non-independent non-executive directors who have resigned with effect from July 21. They are: T.S. Tato’Ir. Muhamed Radzi bin Haji Mansor (Chairman/Non-Independent Non-Executive Director), Ir. Prabahar N.K. Singam (Non-Independent Non-Executive Director) and Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli bin Ramly (Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director)

The NDB’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Eran Wickramaratne, has joined the Eagle Insurance PLC board with effect from July 18, the CSE has been notified. The NDB is the predominant shareholder of CDIC with over 98% of its equity and CDIC in turn is ultimately the second biggest shareholder of Eagle Insurance behind Aviva, a global giant.

Other appointments to the boards of quoted companies communicated to the CSE include those of Dr. T. Senthilverl to East West Properties from July 18 and Mr. Priyantha Fernando as a non-Executive director to Industrial Asphalts with effect from July 23.

A foreign director of the Commercial Bank, Mr. Iyad Malas has resigned his board seat with effect from July 10.
