GSM, the market leader in Sri Lanka in mobile telephony, Friday announced what the company called "slashes" in its mobile phone tariffs.
Starting August 1, Dialog has launched a "lifetime discount" program under which its 4.5 million customers in both the post-paid and pre-paid segments will have a generous 50% discount on all outgoing local calls from the third minute onwards with a 25% discount from the second minute.
"As its name suggests, the Lifetime Discount offers customers a string of benefits – all of them valid for the customer’s lifetime," a company news release said.
This lifetime discount will be operative when a customer signs a one-time subscription of Rs.477.
"The service is activated via an SMS. Type in the word DISCOUNT and send your SMS to 678, and the Lifetime Discount will be activated. The one-time all inclusive payment of Rs.477 will be charged to your monthly bill, or debited from your prepaid credit balance," Dialog said.
