

Mr. Udayasri Kariyawasam, previously chairman of the Bank of Ceylon and the Ceylon Electricity Board, has been appointed the new chairman of the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka succeeding Dr. Gamini Wickremasinghe.
Kariyawasam who assumed duties on August 6 had served on the Insurance Board in 2004/05.
A practicing chartered accountant, he obtained a Master of Business (Accounting) degree from RMIT University in Melbourne and he is also a member of the CPA Australia.
He was admitted to the membership (CFE) of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in the USA in 2003 and he runs his own Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination practice in Sri Lanka.
