THE UNP’s Anuradhapura office said the DIG North Central
Province K. P. P. Pathirana had interdicted two policemen who were on
night duty, patrolling the streets in the Anuradhapura town on August 8
when the office of the UNP Provincial Council candidate Ms Mayuri Subashi
Fernando’s election office was attacked and damaged.
According to the DIG further investigations are being
carried out.
Following this incident, security had been provided to the
offices of Ms Subashini Mayuri Fernando and Anuradhapura UNP District
Manager Dr. John Pulle only during the nights.
