Jathika Hela Urumaya General Secretary Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera yesterday said that the JHU was of the view that the All Party Representative Committee must be immediately summoned.
He said that on Monday he wrote to President Mahinda Rajapaksa stating that the JHU had no intention of participating in the APRC deliberations in future and as such to summon it immediately.
He said that President Rajapakasa inaugurated the APRC under a pledge made in the Mahinda Chinthanaya and a committee was formed with members representing all political parties.
"Despite more than two years of deliberations the APRC has become useless and the JHU is of the view that discussing any further in the APRC is of no use," he said.
