

Western Province Chief Minister Reginald Cooray said people should forget their differences on the lines of class, creed, religion or party and unite as a nation to uplift the morale of security forces making a final thrust against the LTTE in Mullaitivu and Killinochchi.
The forthcoming PC elections would be a litmus test for the Government to continue with its thrust to destroy LTTE terrorism once and for all, he said.
All the sacrifices made by the security forces to corner and destroy the LTTE in the north and East would at a time the security forces were knocking at victorys door.
"I strongly believe that the President is the only leader who has shown the courage and commitment to destroy LTTE terrorism and at the same time engaged in mega development projects such as the Moraghakanda, Uma oya, Norachcholai, Kotmale, Hambantota Port, Oluvil port, Kerawalapitiya power plant, maga neguma, gama neguma, jathika saviya and funding Poverty alleviation programmes and fertilizer subsidies to farmers and tea smallholders despite spiraling oil prices," he said.
In addition the government had provided severl incentives at great cost to boost those engaged in the Gem and jewellery Industry, he said
