Anura remembered

A group of friends of the late Anura Bandaranaike had a unique event in memory of their leader and friend.

A special dinner was organised at the popular Chinese Restaurant 168 with premium scotch and red wine, reminiscent of the many evenings of fun, joy and laughter that this group had spent with the man whom they affectionately called the ‘Boss.’

Going down memory lane, the group recalled the moments of victory and defeat they had shared with the boss.

Minister Dr. Mervin Silva’s anecdotes related in his own inimitable style kept the group regaled in loud guffaws of laughter which reverberated through the crowded halls of Restaurant 168.

Joining this exclusive group were billionaire businessman Thiru Nadesan, Western Provincial Councillor Gamini Guneratne, Merrick Gooneratne, Sudath Gunasinghe, Deepu Senanayake, veteran Japanese businessman Prashantha Wijesinghe, Mohamed Nazly and Vasantha Samarasekera who was Bandaranaike’s personal Bodyguard.-(SF)
