UNP chief ministerial candidate at the recent Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council elections, actor Ranjan Ramanayake yesterday said he plans soon to tie the nuptial knot with a lass from the Sabaragamuwa Province and settle down there.
"Though I lost the elections, I have no desire to desert the people of Sabaragamuwa," he said.
"I express my gratitude to the people of Sabaragamuwa for placing trust in me and voting for me. I was able to top the preferential votes list" an elated Ramanayake said.
He said the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council is rampant with corruption and he as the Opposition leader would fight to rid the Council of corruption and fraud.
