The Beijing Olympic Games have drawn to a close on a very high note, with huge celebrations and ceremonies.

It is also great to note that the host country topped the table with 51 Golds beating its nearest rival, USA, by not less than 15. There have been brilliant sporting highlights and spectacular fireworks in 18 locations in Beijing at the close. Britain could manage 19 Golds, their highest in a century.
