KANDY - UNP National Organiser S. B. Dissanayake told journalists, in Kandy on Sunday (31), that he would never quit the UNP.

Dissanayake was interviewed by media personnel when he paid a courtesy call on the Most Ven. Tibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thero of Malwatte.

Dissanayake was responding to a question on whether he had any intention of leaving the UNP, which had displayed weakness even at the recent North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council elections.

Dissanayake said "I will never quit the United National Party".

With regard to the success of the government at crushing LTTE terrorism in the North, Dissanayake said, I am unconditionally supportive of the capture of Prabhakaran.

He said that Prabhakaran should be captured.

However, Dissanayake said that the government sold the war to gain victory at the two provincial council elections.

"But, I must say that the government cannot repeat this".

Kandy Municipal Council Member Lion Raja Pushpakumara was also present.
