Woman LTTE activist says Tigers abducted her daughter

A woman suspected to be an LTTE activist arrested by the police at Moratuwa had refused to divulge any information saying that the Tigers would kill her daughter if she spilled the beans.

She had claimed that the LTTE had forcibly taken away her young daughter before she was sent to Colombo and if she revealed any details of her mission, it would endanger her daughter’s life, police said.

The suspect was arrested with two male accomplices at the Moratuwa Railway Station recently.

One of the men who accompanied her was found to be an employee of the Medical Division of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, police said. The other accomplice had helped her to come to Colombo from the East, police investigations have revealed.

The three suspects are being held on a judicial order.
