The editor of the Lanka Dissent website, Mr. Indika Gamage, in a letter to us has said that it was not correct that his website is connected to Mr. Mangala Samaraweera.

"The website is owned and published by a small group of concerned citizens under the label `Centre for Social Democracy’,’’ Gamage said. It has nothing to do with Samaraweera or his politics ``both editorially and in ownership.’’

While appreciating that we had sourced the story to the website, the editor said that our reference to "the Lanka Dissent website of Mr. Mangala Samaraweera" in our Sept. 7 report of the exit of well known columnist D.B.S. Jeyaraj from the Rivira Group of newspapers ``is wholly incorrect.’’

We regret the error and apologize to all concerned.
