Emirates has teamed up with the Trans Asia Hotel, Colombo’s leading city resort, to offer an opportunity for the latter’s clientele to win Skywards Miles and experience the airline’s award-winning product, via an innovative new promotion.
Customers of the hotel’s popular launderettes will receive a surprise when they pick up their business suits and corporate attire over the next three months, in the form of an attractive laundry tag that offers them a chance to win up to 250,000 Skywards Miles from Emirates’ frequent flyer programme every month.
A detachable coupon at the end of the tag enables the customer to participate in a monthly draw for Skywards Miles, if he or she spends Rs 7500 or more at one of Trans Asia Hotel’s signature restaurants. To be won are a first prize of 100,000 Miles and two prizes of 75,000 Miles each month. These miles can be redeemed for free tickets on Emirates, for upgrades or a host of other benefits.
Commenting on this novel promotion, Trans Asia Hotel General Manager Neroy Marso said: "We are delighted to partner with Emirates on this innovative promotion, and are confident that it will add greater value to our patrons’ dining experience at the hotel."
Using the laundry tag as an innovative communications medium, Emirates invites the recipient to fly the new Emirates Airbus A380, which is redefining luxury air travel. Devika Ellepola, Emirates Sales Manager Sri Lanka said: "The new Emirates A380 is all about comfort and style. With its association with fine dining and good grooming, this promotion provides another opportunity to convey our message about the new A380 to a segment of our target audience."
Taking the message of the Emirates A380 further to the Trans Asia Hotel’s guests, the airline has also inserted an attractive bookmark into 3000 copies of Sannasa - the hotel’s monthly newsletter.
The Airbus A380 is the world’s only twin-deck, two-aisle airliner, offering the widest cabin of any aircraft. The aircraft’s floor area is 49 percent bigger and has 35 percent more seats than its closest rival. The Emirates A380 has 489 seats in a three-class configuration (14 first class seats, 76 business class seats and 399 economy class seats). Unique to the Emirates aircraft are its lounge for First and Business Class passengers, Shower Spas and two fully-equipped bathrooms in the First Class cabins with shower facilities.
