Though some railway employees had launched a token strike yesterday, the train services were normal, the railways control room said yesterday (15).

A large number of employees of the running shed had not reported to work yesterday but only four trains were cancelled. One was cancelled due to a derailment on the Chilaw line on Sunday (14).

Engine drivers, guards, station masters and train controllers did not join the token strike that was organized by the United Front of Railway Unions with the support of the General Railway Employees Union.
