Colombo Bulls were ahead 39-18 at the end of the first half and then scored 25 points in the second half to widen their victory margin to 28 points.
Duke Rajapaksha, who was the player of the match and C. Rathnayake scored 13 points each, for the Bulls. For Buffaloes BC, Ashantha Gunawardane scored ten points.
Gayan Mideniya (23) and M.K. Sheran (28) shared 51 points between them for hosts to cruise to a 67-57 win over Wattala BC in their match. Otters won the match after taking a narrow first half lead of five points. For Wattala BC, Pradeep Pushpakumara scored 12 points while Pragith Pushpakumara scored 10 points. Gayan Mideniya of Otters was adjudged the player of the match.
The participating teams play in four Groups and the first two teams of each Group will qualify for Semi-finals. The tournament that started on Thursday will culminate with the final on September 27.
