A parliamentary group of the Republic of Latvia together with a trade delegation is planning a visit to Sri Lanka in the first half of 2009.

A parliamentary cooperation group in Latvia was formed on September 11th this year.

On an official visit to the Republic of Latvia, the Honorary Consul General of Latvia in Sri Lanka, Thomas Daetwyler met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia as well as with the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Latvia Arnis Anchupans.

Matters relating to trade and bilateral interests were discussed.
