Gunathilaka takes Mahanama to pre-quarter finals
All rounder Danushka Gunathilaka scored an unbeaten 52, his third consecutive half-century and picked up three wickets for 20 runs for Mahanama College to turn tables on S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia and record a six wickets victory in a decisive Inter-School Under-17 Elephant Lemonade Trophy tournament match played at Ananda Sastralaya Ground Kotte yesterday.

Having restricted the Thominas for 170 runs, Mahanama knocked off the target with six wickets in hand.

In the lead up to the match, three teams namely Mahanama College, S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia and St. Thomas’ College, Matale had all scored three victories each in Group C and yesterday’s decision placed Mahanama College on the top of their group.

Kavinda and Weerasinghe shine for Kotte Thomians

Paceman Charith Kavinda picked up six wickets to back up the fine batting effort of Akila Weerasinghe, who top scored with 150 runs for St. Thomas’ College, Kotte to record a massive 230 runs victory over Sandalankava MV in their Under-17 match played at Kotte on Sunday.
