An Attorney-at-law with a dubious past has been appointed to the Judicial Service Commission although a contempt of Court charge is pending against him in a District Court.
He had worked as a director of a Government Department and his activities there were probed by the Presidential Investigations Unit. While working in the government sector he was alleged to have illegally filled a crown land and a separate case was pending against him in a Magistrate’s Court.
He was supposed to have not mentioned anything about his past activities and involvements in court cases when he applied to join the Judicial Service Commission. An inquiry is in progress.
