

Skipper Denuwan Dassanayake with a 66-ball 70 runs and all-rounder Ushan Gunathilaka with a good double of 41 runs and three wickets guided Colombo North A to a six wickets victory, their second consecutive win, over Colombo North B in the on going Prima Champions Trophy Under-15 Inter District tournament match played at Kotahena yesterday.
Deciding to bat first, Colombo North B topped 200 run mark courtesy of 55 extras given away by their counterparts. Later chasing 219 to win, Colombo North A were helped by two brisk knocks.
Skipper Dassanayake stroked 70 runs inclusive of eight fours and five sixes while Gunathilaka scored six fours and one six in his 41 runs for Colombo North A to reach the target with 10 overs to spare in their innings. Gunathilaka was named Man of the match for his 41 runs and three wickets.
Recording back to back victories, Colombo North A are now well in contention for a place in the next stage of the Prima Championship.
