Unidentified men attack Saddatissa Viharaya in Kingsbury

The Sri Saddatissa Buddhist Vihara in Kingsbury, North West London came under attack by two unidentified men during the early hours of September 26, smashing the glass of some windows of the temple.

The windscreen of Ven. Nepale Sumana Thera’s car and the windows of a mini bus hired by the temple were also damaged by the attackers.

The Head Monk of the Vihara, Ven. Galayaye Piyadassi Thera told The Sunday Island that the resident monks heard a big noise around 1.30 am, and on coming out of the temple to inquire, saw two young men, presumably Asian, running away.

When asked whether he suspects anyone in particular, the prelate said he had no idea who was behind the attack nor the motive behind it.

Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made so far
