


The video tape of the Sirasa TV cameraman, who filmed the
happenings at the UNP office from the start until the bomb exploded
killing NCP Opposition leader Major General (rtd) Janaka Perera and 29
others, is being scrutinized by a special Police team.
Senior DIG Jayantha Gamage, who accompanied three special
police teams sent from Colombo to carry out investigations, told The
Island that the video tape of the Sirasa cameraman is of vital
importance and a definite conclusion could be made on the planning and
killing of Janaka Perera. The Sirasa cameraman, too, was killed in the
explosion.

Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman,
leader of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Puligal (TMVP), was sworn in as
a Parliamentarian yesterday by the Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara.
