Turnover drops by half but indices show improvement
Yesterdays turnover dropped by almost fifty per cent of Fridays volume down from Rs. 182 million to Rs. 97 million. However both indices registered improved performances with the ASI at 1983.58 an improvement of 58.89 points (3.06 per cent) and MPI up at 2194.59 with arise of 69.19 points (3.26 per cent).

The significant contributors were Cargills 0.3mn at Rs.28.00 gaining =/50 Cts, Dialog 0.3mn at Rs.7.50 gaining =/Cts 50, JKH 0.1mn at Rs. 76.00 gaining Cts=/75, Lanka IOC 0.1mn at Rs.22.50 gaining Rs.1.25, Maskeliya Plantations, 0.1 mn at Rs. 26.00 gaining Rs. 1.25, Nations Trust 0.7mn at Rs. 26.00 gaining Rs.1.25, Nations Trust (war con 2010) 0.2 mn at Rs.6.00 gaining =/50 Cts, Nations Trust (War Con 2011) 0.3mn at Rs.6.00 losing =/25cts, Nawaloka 0.2 mn at Rs.2.40 gaining =/10 Cts, Piramal Glass 0.2mn at Rs.2.00 gaining =/20 Cts, Richard Peiris 0.1mn at Rs.40.25 losing Rs.1.25, Tokyo Cement 0.1mn at Rs.11.75 gaining Rs.1.25, Vallibel 0.1mn at Rs.4.20 (unchanged and Lanka Cement 0.1 mn at Rs.9.75 gaining =/75 Cts
