Hands Lanka Specials

The Hands Lanka exhibition at the Sri Lanka Foundation Centre brought into focus much talent and some unique work done with the most unimaginable things such as roots, and bark and leaves. The most ingenious work was a collection of works of art which took the form of wall hangings and other ornaments and sculptures turned out of teak leaves, besides natural herbs, shrubs and trees. They are most original and lovely to look at. Consy Goonetilleke not only does these creations but also does paintings on canvas which were exhibited in Scotland and will soon be on exhibition in Sri Lanka in November. Thirty paintings will be available for sale. The only painting that was on display at the stall, was selected for the cover page of ‘Kenshu’, a quarterly magazine by the Association for Overseas Techinal Scholarships in Japan. She also does export quality pottery, which are ideal for those who enjoy and indulge in pottery painting, or for table decor for a special touch to a party.
