The closure of the Parliament Road from the Kollupitiya Junction to Parliament for half an hour in the morning and another half an hour in the evening on the days when Parliament sits had inconvenienced motorists, Police said.

As the road runs right through the city, the closure affects tens of thousands of motorists and causes severe congestion in the city prone to terror attacks.
