The Seylan Bank Quiz team emerged the best among the bank teams in addition to being placed 5th ranked team at the Wisdom 2008 table quiz conducted by the Management Club on Saturday 13th September at the Galle Face HoteWisdom 2008, conducted for the third consecutive year by TMC saw 34 teams battling out this Ultimate Quiz Challenge, with 9 teams from the Banking sector joining the fray, while 10 teams from the mercantile sector, 7 from leading schools in the island and 8 teams formed by individuals made up the balance.

Seylan Bank team led by Brian Joseph of the Dealer Department comprised of Shanaka Perera (also of the Dealer Department), Nimesh Dissananayake from the Treasury Branch Ilanko Kathiravelupilliai of FCBU and Chandrika Vaas of the Imports Department.

PABC Bank and Peoples Bank who were joint winners of the Banking sector award at TMC’s Wisdom Quiz last year tied for the second position in the sector this time while Sampath Bank came a close fourth.

The other Bank teams that took part in Wisdom 2008 were from Commercial Bank, NDB A team and B team, Peoples Bank B team and their Kaluthara Branch team

The mercantile category was won by Dialog while Royal became the top schools’ team with Mahesha Weerasinshe’s team bagging the honours as the best team.

A TMC spokesperson said they hope to repeat the event next year too in September.
