The Piyagunaseya Chaithya was built and donated to the Buddhist Temple at Parakrama Road, Mattumagala recently by Mrs. Sunila Jayasinghe and her children in memory of her late husband J. A. D. Jayaratne, a well-known social service worker, prominent businessman and Justice of the Peace. The family members engage in religious activities prior to unveiling of the Pinnacle.
