

The ninth in the series of Infotel exhibitions, which formed part of the National ICT Week activity was held recently With over 140 stalls, Infotel was a forum to promote ICT products and services, whereby the public becomes aware of the greater role it could play in development. The 10th International IT Conference (IITC), a national forum on Cyber Security and workshops on careers in ICT are some of the other events that were held parallel to the exhibition. The e-Sri Lanka segment built awareness on how the public could use online services to fulfill their requirements. Infotel brought together Sri Lanka’s IT experts, professionals and academics and the user community on to a single platform. Dialog Telekom, was the Strategic Partner- Communications and Broadband for Infotel 2008. Dialog Telekom bagged two awards at Infotel 2008 for its innovative stall, aptly titled ‘The Future Capsule’. It won Best Stall Communications and Best Display of Future Technology. The Future Capsule was one of the main attractions at the exhibition featuring a host of state-of-the-art technological displays. This included mobile business and entertainment applications, m-commerce services, broadband solutions, enterprise solutions, satellite television, GPS-based mobile navigation systems and much more. The tastefully constructed stall was adorned with latest gizmos and futuristic products, making it a haven for those who wanted to touch, feel, hear and see digital lifestyle. Other highlights included the Dialog ‘Buzz’ which was parked at the exhibition premises where visitors could inquire about Dialog’s products and services.
