Army Commander reviews progress of military operations in Wanni

Army Commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka flew to Vavuniya yesterday (07) morning along with a few other senior Army officers. He addressed senior ground commanders present at the Wanni Security Forces Headquarters auditorium after taking stock of ongoing military operations with Commander Security Forces Headquarters Wanni Major General Jagath Jayasuriya. Among the issues discussed at this meeting were dispatch of food convoys to un-cleared areas, providing basic facilities to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and possibilities of schooling facilities for children of IDPs, Army media Unit said.
