Mrs. Sicille P.C. Kote-lawala has resigned from the boards of five companies of the Ceylinco-Seylan gro-up with effect from October 31 to reduce her workload and devote more time for charity work.
The Colombo Stock Exchange has been informed that Mrs. Kotelawala has quit the boards of the Seylan Merchant Bank, Seylan Merchant Leasing, Ceylinco Seylan Developments, The Finance Company and Ceylinco Housing and Real Estates with effect from October 31.
"I already feel more relaxed after divesting some of my responsibilities," she said yesterday. "This way I’ll have more time to spend with my family – I have a very small family – as well as in my home and also be able to do more hands-on charity work."
Mrs. Kotelawala however retains the major board memberships of the group including the Co-Chair of the Seylan Bank.
"I have got Lalith’s consent to step down from these boards," she said.
