Colombo businessmen pledge to create  employment
Responding to ICTA’s invitation representatives of several Companies pledged their support for the career guidance fairs which are to be conducted the Anuradhapura, Badulla, Galle, Hambanthota, Kandy, Kurunegala, Matara and Ratnapura districts soon. Apart from those who pledged the support by agreeing to supply presenters, counsellors – in Sinhala, Tamil and English – etc.at the event itself, invitation was extended to others to offer the support, if they so desired, later.

Participating at the launching of the Information Technology Business Process Outsourcing career guidance fairs to be held in, ICTA’s Chief Operating Officer Deshan Dewapura said: "In the case of well-known careers like those of doctors, engineers, accountants there are many groups to advice the children but in the case of careers in the Information Technology Business Process Outsourcing there is no one to provide the necessary guidance. So it is up to the Government to do so. ICTA as the apex body for national ICT policy and direction has the responsibility of creating this awareness among the villagers as part of its effort to bring ICT solutions under eSriLanka to make the life the people more comfortable. We are grateful that many have contributed to this effort the lion’s share in this contribution being from the Ministry of Educ ation.

Commenting on t official IT- BPO Career fairs website Programme Manager, Private Sector Development at ICTA. Fayaz Hudah, said ‘ The web site allows personnel in the IT- BPO industry to pledged their support and all others interested in an IT- BPO career to get more information on the career fairs and also on IT- BPO careers’".
