Retired Major General Ashoka Thoradeniya is tipped to be appointed the next Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).

At the moment the Treasury Secretary functions as the acting chairman of CPC following the Supreme Court decision last Friday to sack the Chairman and the Petroleum Minister.

A final decision in this regard would be taken after the President returns to the country, sources said.
