Spoken English
Letters have appeared in your journal, lamenting over ignoring of spoken English in our education system.

Spoken language is speaking the language in a specified way - well spoken. The same applies to spoken English.

Grammar is the study of the elements of a language, inflections (grammatical relations) or any other means of showing the relation between words as used in speech and writing. Does that not mean grammatical too?

Education, on the other hand, is systematic instruction for development of character and mental power, speaking and writing inclusive.

I am no educationist, but I hold the view that any spoken language has to be grammatical. We were taught the language grammatically in the good old days.

Can anyone please clarify?
