Leader of the National Freedom Front Wimal Weerawansa and JVP trade union chief K. D. Lalkantha met recently to discuss the crisis in the JVP, The Island learns.

Sources said the duo had had a lengthy discussion on the problems affecting the JVP and measures to be adopted to overcome them.

However, contacted for comment Lalkantha said he had no ‘political’ reason to meet Weerawansa.
