

Eagle Insurance PLC recorded consolidated revenue of Rs. 5,117 million for the third quarter of 2008. This reflects an impressive growth of 24% over the corresponding period in 2007.
The gross written premium income of the Group for the third quarter of 2008 grew by 15% to Rs. 4,371 million over the corresponding period in 2007. Life gross written premiums grew by 14% whilst General Insurance recorded a growth of 16%.

The Company recently conducted the National Safety Awards 2008, with the Minister of Labour Relations and Manpower, Athauda Seneviratne as Chief Guest. Sri Lanka’s twenty one safest work places were recognized at the awards presentation. This National event which was instigated by and has been sponsored by Eagle Insurance since 1994 is held in collaboration with the Department of Labour and the Employees Trust Fund Board of Sri Lanka. The ‘National Safety Awards’ has become the benchmark of organizational commitment towards an accident-free workplace, leading to enhanced organizational and national productivity.
