

International Cement Traders (Pvt) Ltd., best known as Italcementi, a major player in Sri Lanka’s cement trade, has completed a program titled ``Tips for Tomorrow’s Business’’ to better empower its dealers improve their own profitability, thereby improving overall productivity and increasing sales.
The company which has been in business here for over 10 years has been working on dealer competence to ensure high quality service to customers following up an earlier program of skill infusion to masons in various parts of the country.
A total of 25 dealers were invited for the program conducted by Marketing and Management Consultant Prasanna Perera and Nadeeshan Hettiarachchi, a senior auditor. Participants were given the opportunity to raise problems they faced and get advice on how to best tackle them.
All paricipants expressed appreciation to ICT for having taken the initiative to organize the event and expressed the hope that this would be the first of many similar programs.
According to ICT Managing Director Mr. Colin Nelson, it is vital for any business to maintain a high level of customer service as well as employee satisfaction to ensure success and profitability.
"For the first time in the Sri Lankan cement industry, a company has taken a proactive step to develop the profitability of it’s dealers in a bid to better equip them to face future business challenges and we are proud to be that ICT has taken the lead, he said".
Nelson further added that company will be conducting a series of similar lectures in the coming year as well.
