Cancer hospital nurses back

Nurses of the Maharagama Cancer Institute who refused to administer chemotherapy and struck work from last Wednesday resumed work last afternoon following a meeting called by the Health Minister today (16) to discuss their demands.

The nurses cited lack of training to administer chemotherapy as the drugs used could be harmful even to those who stand close.

They also wanted an increase in the risk allowance paid to them. (DJ)
