      Editorial:Let saner counsel prevail!

The Cabinet received an official copy of the Supreme Court directive on the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, to reduce the price of petrol to Rs.100 a litre, yesterday, but it would be discussed further only when the ministers meet again next Wednesday, Media Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said yesterday.

LIOC sells petrol at 100
Last Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that the government should cut petrol prices with immediate effect to Rs. 100 per litre but the government said it would only do so after the Cabinet perused the Court ruling.

SLAF bomb Sea Tiger unit
According to SLAF spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakara, the LTTE radio interceptions had revealed that the boats moving from Elephant Pass to Kilaly had been attacked. One boat had been destroyed while the others fled back to Elephant Pass.
