Thai Airways halves fuel surcharge

Thai Airways International yesterday reduced its overall fuel surcharge by 50 per cent, said Airlines General Manager, Sri Lanka and Maldives Weerawat Swasdibutra.

"We want to pass the benefit derived by the airline due to the drastic decline in world fuel prices to the consumer during the New Year season," he said.

It’s the fourth time that Thai Airways reduced the fuel surcharge in two months , he said.

Thai flies four times a week to Colombo. No changes were made to the airline’s flight schedules after the operations at the Suwarnabhumi International Airport resumed which was affected by a blockade.

There was no change to Thai flights to Fukuoka, Paris, Zurich, Kunming and Chenddu, Swasdibutra said. (HG)
