Army Bullets pierce favourites Ratnams

The Army Bullets beat defending championbs and tournament favourites Ratnams by 2 goals to 1 in front of thaousads of fans.

The Army forwards right throughout the game harried the Ratnams defence and penetrated their goal line to create many exciting moments but managed to hit the net, just twice.

Master tactician, M. Izadeen of the Army Bullets kept feeding both sides to initiate many attacking moves.

Army scored in the 30th minute through M. Issadeen and the scores were 1-0 at lemons.

Their next goal came in the 60th minute. After the second goal, Ratnams changed their style of play and started worrying the Army defence.This resulted in M. Raumy finding the net to make the score 2-1, in the 80th minute.

Golden Boot for the Highest Goal Scorer - Kasun Jayasuriya (Ratnams SC)

The champion Army team was awarded Rs.500,000 in cash and the Dialog Premier trophy while Ratnams were awarded Rs.300,000 in cash and medals.

The chief guest was Nushad Perera, CEO, Dialog TV and Chirantha De Zoysa, GM, Sports Promotions and Events.
