A new line in jeans was launched in the Patio of the Galle Face Hotel
recently. A promise of fit style and ego in a perfect style statement was
promised, all of which was seen on the models of both sexes taking to the
catwalk. Perhaps naturally the jeans were geared to the young and tended
to be close fitting. Teamed with different tops they will soon be seen on
the smart teenagers conscious of style.
Among the large number of invitees present were some striking styles sported by the women. Making heads turn were sisters Natasha and Natalie Jayasuriya. One wore a white boob top patterned in a print which looked as though it was hand painted, with black pants and a jaunty tartan patterned hat, with the other in an empire waisted dress in grey, she wore with a single strand of large pearls. A dress in a shifty style was the choice of Ranmali Mirchandani which was ink blue at the hemline fusing into yellow at the top. With her was a friend smart in full black, and there were jeans worn with white tops and black tops, with one young Miss in a white top which had a peplum at the waist under which was a guipure lace trim which gave it a period quality.
