Once again fashion raised its head in splendour with a range of style. There was Audray Rajendra in a spell binding black which she brought stunning colour to with a scarf splashed in cerise, white, turquoise, and yellow in an unusual drape. Nirupama Rajapakse had her saxe blue top worked at the V neckline in lighter blue sequins, and beads and white stones, she wore with a diamond necklace. Among those in saree were Bhavia Udeshi, Mumtaz Nanji and Aroshi Wadugodapitiya. Bhavia’s dacca saree in sugar was bordered and patterned in a lacy black weave. An olive green pattern ran on the sheer black of Mumtaz Nanki’s saree, she wore with a shot peacock blouse, and Aroshi had her lovely mint green chiffon delicately worked in the same colour. Among the other close friends of the couple were Mona Mahendran and Lalini and Lucky Alwis. Mona had her black saree worked in a thread work border in ivory and copper to make an elegant statement.
