"You have the opportunity for success. But guard your tongue", Most Venerable Mahanayake of Asgiriya, Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thera advised S. B. Dissanayake, UNP National Organiser and Chief Ministerial Candidate at the forthcoming Central Provincial Council Poll. Mr. Dissanayake told the prelates that his salvation is the Mahanayake Theros and that he was ready to follow their advice.

Dissanayake who received an interim court decision to have his name included in the voters’ list recently paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and called on the prelates of Malwatte and Asgiriya for their blessings for victory at the forthcoming Central Provincial Council Election yesterday.

Most Venerable Mahanayake Thera of Asgiriya Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha welcoming Dissanayake said, "You will stand a chance. But guard your tongue (kata parissang karaganta) and do a campaign without causing any evil to anyone."

"Do a peaceful campaign, you will stand a chance. A competent and efficient leader is capable of serving the people better, the prelate said conferring his blessings.
