The Island query yields results
Laugfs chief promises petrol
at Rs. 100

Chairman of LAUGFS Holdings Ltd W. K.H. Wegapitiya yesterday said that he would make available petrol at all his sheds at Rs 100 per litre from midnight yesterday.
Wegapitiya gave this pledge last afternoon after The Island pointed out the absurdity in Wegapitiya’s failure to implement the Supreme Court directive despite his being one of the petitioners to move the Supreme Court against the infamous oil hedging deal with a view to bringing down the price of petrol.

Mahinda rules out fresh Maths II paper
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has dismissed the call for a fresh Maths II paper for students who sat for the GCE O/L (new curriculum), as it would be a further burden on them.
