The Board of Investment (BOI), Horana Export Processing Zone conducted a tree planting campaign recently, in keeping with the "Parisara Hithakami Ha Nillen Pirunu Ratak" programme.

"Parisara Hithakami Ha Nillen Pirunu Ratak" programme is being implemented by the BOI at Zone Level and is carried under the "Mahinda Chinthanaya" programme.

This is the first phase of the tree planting campaign for Horana EPZ , under which they planted 100 Na and Pihimbiya plants bordering the Service Area of the Zone.

Investor community and Management representatives of the Horana Export Processing Zone and the officials of the Ingiriya, Forest conservation Department participated at the campaign which was organized by L A Wijeweera, Senior Manager (Zone) HEPZ and the Staff of the BOI Horana Office.

"Parisara Hithakami Ha Nillen Pirunu Ratak" programme is part of the BOI initiative to upgrade its 12 existing zones to eco friendly zones by adding environment friendly improvements. Biyagama Export Processing Zone and Seethawaka Industrial Park have been successfully converted to eco friendly environments under this programme.
