      Editorial:Why open another front?
The Supreme Court yesterday gave the Secretary to the Treasury time till January 27, 2009 to inform it of the difficulties involved in complying with its order of December 17 to reduce the price of a litre of petrol to Rs. 100.00.
The Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva, said that, this case was a judicial review of executive action. The executive cannot on his own vary the order, without seeking the permission of the Court and placing before the Court the relevant facts and proof.
