I have read many letters in your paper for and against vegetarianism. Let me begin by saying that I am a total vegetarian.

Man is an animal but with intelligence, intellect and a conscience. But man had to kill animals and eat animal flesh when man was dependant on animal flesh for his survival. It’s different today due to man’s own efforts. Most countries have flourishing agricultural sectors now (grains, vegetables, green leaves, fruits and cow’s milk). Then, why must man continue to kill animals and eat animal flesh? In this age and in the years to come, man must refrain from eating animal flesh out of moral goodness and, in particular, for our own good health. May I add that I am 75 years old now and I am in good health, as shown by my medical reports, too - having been a total vegetarian from my young days.
